William Okpo’s Fall/Winter 2014 Presentation was playful, lively, and full of color!

Musical beats by DJ Lindsey filled the air as guests entered 51 Astor Place. The bold yellow backdrop brought sunlight to the sulky-weathered New York City studio where guests could mingle and observe the fun and funky collection.

With designs influenced by their personal style and Nigerian background, Lizzy and Darlene Okpo wanted the focus of their collection to highlight a wide array of color. Many New Yorkers favor the color black, so the designers challenged themselves to utilize floral prints, blue stripes, and chunky knits.

Furthermore, the girls collaborated with Solange Knowles and Puma to create one of kind sneakers. They put their very own vibrant and colorful spin on the classic Puma Disc Sneaker.

Privé Salon provided hair and makeup.  Lead hair stylists Madison Jane and Nicole Hartman took the Okpo sisters’ avant-garde and feline-inspired panache and applied it to the look. The hair was parted down the middle and each side was rolled into a vertical cone-like shape creating a messy devil’s horn. Privé Finishing Texture Spray was employed to hold the voluminous rolls all together.

Nail artist, Christina Rinaldi, executed nails. She used Mischo Beauty’s shade “The Tents” as a base and added pops of color on the tips using “Billie” and “Empire State of Mind” for an eclectic take on the classic French-tipped manicure.

Logan Slaughter of Privé Salon kept the makeup simple by darkening the eye with charcoal toned shadows, flared eyeliner, and a nude-glossed lip.

Finding time to stay pampered amidst the craziness of fashion week is always a crucial undertaking. We owe a huge thanks to Style Caster and The Eclective who created a calm, cool, and collected atmosphere at Buddakan NYC so industry invitees could be spoiled with bite-sized goodies, beverages, manicures, massages, and more!

Upon arrival guests were greeted with complimentary Wi-Fi, universal chargers to re-juice their electronics, and espresso from Italian coffee roasting company, Illy.

Once inside the spacious lounge, visitors sat back and began to unwind with massages courtesy of the experts at Beauty Booked, hair styling and makeup assistance from the women at Prettier Please, and eyebrow touch ups from Elke Von Freudberg.

Nevertheless, two of our favorite nail artists - Sonya Meesh and Ajahmure Clovis, came to the rescue with fabulous nail treatments using our client, Mischo Beauty’s luxury nail lacquers. Fashion friends surrounded the nail stations by the dozen to receive their complimentary manicures! Each guest was able to pick one of twelve stylish colors and relax with drinks from Aquacai and Zico Coconut Water. Lucky for us, Mischo’s shade “#NYFW" was the most requested color at the VIP event!

Mischo Beauty has made quite the impression this fashion season with its 5 free luxury nail formula by showing off their twelve vivacious tones on the runway!

Designers were quick to snatch up the fabulous and trendy shades for the debut of their collections at New York City’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The long-lasting and chip-resistant polishes have been a buzz in the industry! What’s more exciting is that they are made without the five harmful toxins - formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin, and camphor, that are still found in most formulas on the market today.

Nail artist, Ajahmure Clovis and company from HerNailsRock, used Mischo Beauty’s shade “The Tents” from the Fashion Week Collection on the models at Juan Carlos Obando. The full naturally shaped nails were buffed and polished in a double coat of the peachy shade.

Glam squad - Christina Rinaldi, Illy Luciano, and Eda Levenson, applied limited edition nail lacquer “Catwalk” to glamorize the model’s nails backstage at Ostwald Helgason. This manicure was very creative and edgy, drawing on the gray-tone and adding a mattifying topcoat to either side leaving a glossy stripe down the face. The color “Catwalk” will hit it big later this fall in limited quantity on Mischo Beauty’s website www.mischobeauty.com.

At the By Misha presentation, manicurist Angel Williams used several shades of the Fashion Week Collection to create a reverse French manicure with colors: The Tents, Invite Only, Front Row, Backstage Beauty, Lincoln Center, and #NYFW.

Similarly, nail artist Christina Rinaldi was inspired to use shades “The Tents” as a base and added pops of color on the tips using “Billie” and “Empire State of Mind” for a fun and funky contrast.

DDPR took fashion week by storm – and by storm, we mean blizzard!

Lucky for us, By Misha held her Autumn/Winter 2014 presentation indoors at the Lali Lali Gallery in SoHo. Powerful women of the past were Misha’s inspiration for her newest collection, titled “Eloquence.”  Each look featured misty hues of charcoal, blush, teal, navy, and ivory.

Over 140 guests piled in to the posh event space to view and take pictures of the garments and accessories through strings of glittering lights, stacks of gracefully bound books, candles and flowers.

Prive Salon’s team of incredibly talented hair stylists created a large and voluminous sock styled double-bun. The updo was pinned into two eye-catching spheres on each model’s head – one atop the other.

Kai Vinson of Bobbi Brown created a feminine natural look using a smoky-nude palette. The makeup was soft and ladylike focusing on fresh flawless skin, a defined eyebrow, and rose colored lipsticks and blush.

Manicurist Angel Williams used Mischo Beauty’s Fashion Week Collection to create a reverse French manicure with shades: The Tents, Invite Only, Front Row, Backstage Beauty, Lincoln Center, and #NYFW.

Models carried MARYLAI New York python and leather handbags and clutches while flashing one of a kind GBGH Jewelry pieces.

Guests of the event were happy to receive a python skin mini-clutch of their very own all whilst munching on delicious champagne cupcakes by Meg’s Sweet Treats and tea cocktails by The Owl’s Brew!
